About 24th International Mathematics Conference
The Biennial Mathematics Conference organized by the Bangladesh Mathematical Society is an inclusive event that covers a wide range of topics in Pure and Applied Mathematics. The aim of this conference is to build a dynamic platform for sharing insights, recent breakthroughs and innovative ideas across all areas of mathematics. By uniting researchers, educators and professionals from various countries, the conference aims to advance both theoretical and applied mathematics through high-quality presentations and discussions. It also seeks to promote interdisciplinary connections, highlighting how mathematics plays a vital role in solving complex challenges in science, engineering and technology. With this collaborative effort, the Department of Mathematics at the University of Chittagong and the Bangladesh Mathematical Society aim to strengthen global research ties and make a valuable contribution to the broader mathematical community.

Department of Mathematics, University of Chittagong
The Department of Mathematics at the University of Chittagong (CU), established in 1968, is known for its excellence in teaching and research. It plays a key role in advancing mathematical sciences in Bangladesh and maintains a strong presence within the global academic community. The department is recognized for its dynamic academic environment, with faculty actively engaged in diverse research areas. Regular seminars, workshops, and conferences promote scholarly collaboration and knowledge exchange. It also maintains academic partnerships with institutions both nationally and internationally.
A source of great pride for the department is its association with the late Professor Dr. Jamal Nazrul Islam, a distinguished mathematician and physicist who served the department with profound dedication. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to science, mathematics, and education, he was posthumously awarded the prestigious Shadhinota Padak in 2025, the highest civilian honor in Bangladesh.
The department offers comprehensive programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and Ph.D. levels. Its alumni hold prominent positions in different academia, research institutions, government, and industry worldwide. With a commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and student development, the Department of Mathematics, University of Chittagong continues to contribute to the global advancement of mathematical knowledge.

Bangladesh Mathematical Society
In the year 1972, Bangladesh Mathematical Society (BMS) was founded by a group of reputed mathematicians. The prime goal of Bangladesh Mathematical Society is to promote mathematics education in Bangladesh at all levels from school to university. Another goal of BMS is to enhance research work in pure and applied mathematics as well as other mathematical sciences.
The society has thus played a great role from time to time in formulating standard mathematics curriculum. BMS also organizes various seminars on teaching and education of mathematics occasionally. Besides, Bangladesh Mathematical Society organizes International Conferences every two years at different universities of Bangladesh on different areas of mathematics.
